FCO China Future Cities Programme Workshop

Posted 5th April 2019 by Marcus Chidgey

We spent today at the China Future Cities Programme Workshop held at the Connected Places Catapult (formerly Future Cities Catapult) in Clerkenwell.

The event was well attended by UK companies, government agencies and councils already working with companies and government in China.

The workshop focused on mapping UK technology capabilities to projects in China supported by HM Government’s Prosperity Fund.

Interesting insights were shared by delegates from organisations like PwC, Digital Greenwich, Bournemouth Council, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and Loqiva.

Key themes included Human Centred Design, City Standards, Collection and Management of Open Data, Integrated Urban Planning and Systems Thinking, Climate and Environment and Inclusivity and Preserving Local Identity.

We look forward to continuing our collaboration with the Connected Places Catapult and the FCO. We hope to be delivering implementations in China and in other countries around the world with their support soon.
