Baseline Emissions Footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.

We use the financial control approach for calculating GHG emissions and we categorise emissions-relating activities into three groups known as ‘scopes’.
Scope 1 (Direct emissions) These are activities owned or controlled by our company that release emissions straight into the atmosphere. In 2021, we did not own or rent offices or provide company vehicles for our staff. Our emissions for this scope are zero.
Scope 2 (Energy indirect) These are emissions being released into the atmosphere associated with our consumption of purchased electricity, heat, steam and cooling. Note we are a remote organisation and our staff work from home. As such we have included the combined estimated electricity use of staff at home to generate an emissions figure.
Scope 3 (Other indirect) These are emissions which are a consequence of company actions, which occur at sources which we do not own or control and which are not classified as scope 2 emissions. Our calculation for this scope covers all the sources mentioned in the table below, even where they might be zero. As a technology company, our emissions under this section principally originate from our data centre as well as business travel for marketing and sales purposes.

Emissions Reduction Targets
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
All things remaining equal, we project that our total carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 4.9 tCO2e by 2026. This is a reduction of 20.97%. We will chart our progress in future years against our baseline year.

Future Carbon Reduction Initiatives
We are planning future carbon reduction initiatives to reduce carbon emissions. These include:
Our Data Centre Carbon Emissions Review will investigate ways in which our company can reduce carbon emissions by optimising our server configurations and energy supply
Our Employee Home Working Review will examine ways in which we can reduce the carbon impact of home offices through use of specific items of equipment and/or encouraging employees to switch to renewable energy sources.
Our Business Travel Optimisation Review which will explore the most carbon efficient ways employees can travel to meet our business objectives.
In the event the company grows in size or operations, our carbon footprint may grow overall, but our targets for carbon reduction will be retained on a percentage basis.
Declaration and Sign Off
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard 4 and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting 5.
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard 6.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors.
