Map Items
Using Map Items
Loqiva uses Google Maps to provide a simple way of creating a detailed map of your town. You can plot the information that’s most important to your App Users to create an interactive local map.
Adding Map Items
Map items appear in the Maps section of the smartphone app.
Map Items consist of admin-created interest points and business-created interest points. Admins are shown a list of items which are colour coded to show how each map item has been created.
Creating Map Items as an Admin
Click ‘Add Point’ and a draft interest point will be created. Fill out the form with the following information:
- Title (Uses Google to locate the interest point)
- Description (The Google description will be added if it exists or you can type this in manually)
- Hours (Opening hours from Google will be added if they exist or you can add them manually)
- Address (The address will be added from Google)
- Item Type (Select from the category groups, e.g. Services, and then refine your selection from the list that belongs to the category group, e.g. Dentist).
- Image (An image will be added from Google if it exists. Alternatively an image can be added manually)
- URL (Add a URL of a website associated with the interest point)
Map Items created by Businesses
When businesses sign-up, they create their own listing within the Map Items section. These points are shown to Admins so they can see all the items that are shown to App Users.
Businesses items shouldn’t be edited by Admins. Businesses expect to have editorial control over their own listing. A message is shown for Admins to exercise caution if any business item information is edited.
