UK Trade Mission brings Loqiva to the attention of City Councils in Australia

In 2016 the Australian government announced A$50m of federal funding to transform the liveability, productivity and sustainability of its cities and towns using smart technologies.

Loqiva was selected earlier this year by Innovate UK to travel to Sydney and Melbourne as part of a UK Government trade mission facilitated by the Department for International Trade.

Loqiva’s CEO Marcus Chidgey comments:

“Loqiva provides a solution to the problem of how citizens and visitors should best interface with Smart Cities – whether to discover services local to them in real time, provide feedback to the council about their user experience, or personally interact with digital displays and other IOT devices. It’s very exciting to be here engaging in conversation with councils, government agencies and engineering multinationals who need the solution we’ve developed.”

The Innovate UK Future Cities Trade Mission is taking place between Sunday 11th March and Friday 16th March 2018.

Over 200 different organisations in Australia have been invited to engage with the 15 British companies selected for the mission through one-to-one meetings, drinks receptions, networking events and ‘City Jam’ challenge days.

Loqiva has already presented to Arup, RMIT, KPMG and Melbourne CityLab as well as 7 local councils in Sydney and Melbourne.

Marcus comments:

“Our meetings in Australia have been very positive. A number of councils have already expressed an interest in using Loqiva in their smart programmes. As a result we are investigating the possibility of having a presence in market very soon.”
