Our Arbroath, a Digital Town Hub in the birthplace of Scotland

Loqiva has announced the launch of Our Arbroath, a smart local platform designed to connect people with everything the historic Scottish town has to offer.

The Our Arbroath app now makes it easier than ever for people to explore this heritage, discover local attractions, and support the town’s vibrant business community. Residents and visitors can navigate independent shops, cafés, restaurants, and artisan producers, while also accessing community groups, youth activities, wellbeing services and local events.

Arbroath, celebrated as the birthplace of Scotland, is a town where history, culture, and community come alive. From the iconic Arbroath Abbey, where the Declaration of Arbroath was signed in 1320, to its working harbour, dramatic coastal cliffs, and the world-famous Arbroath Smokies, the town offers a unique blend of heritage, industry, and local character.

Arbroath’s business community reflects the town’s dynamic spirit. Independent retailers and producers operate alongside engineering firms and professional services, contributing to a resilient local economy. The town is also benefiting from ongoing regeneration initiatives, including heritage building refurbishments and investment in tourism, culture, and enterprise.

Lucy Nicholl has been the driving force behind the scenes, working to bring the digital town hub to Arbroath, said:

“The launch of the Our Arbroath digital town hub is a major step forward for our town. We are ambitious in our vision for Arbroath, with plans to attract more visitors, grow our town centre, and showcase the strength of our community. This platform plays into that strategy.

It also allows us to listen more closely to our residents, support our retailers, and ensure that investment in the town truly benefits everyone who lives, works, and visits here.”

The Our Arbroath platform, designed and delivered by Loqiva, joins a growing network of successful digital town hubs across the UK and beyond.

Barry Conlon, co-founder of Loqiva, said:

“We’re thrilled to be working with Lucy and the Our Arbroath team at such an exciting time for the town. All the ingredients are in place for a successful platform: committed local support, responsive businesses, and plenty of distinctive local content.

This innovation brings Arbroath up to the standard of the smartest, most forward-thinking towns, and is exactly the kind of next-generation, inclusive town management that communities across Scotland are striving for.”

The Our Arbroath app is now available to download on the App Store and Google Play.
