Loqiva is pleased to announce a new strategic partnership with STP, the national body that champions the regeneration and sustainable development of towns and city centres across Scotland. The collaboration signals a major step forward for digital placemaking in Scotland, with the shared goal of expanding community-driven digital infrastructure across the country’s towns and cities.
Kimberley Guthrie is the Chief Executive Officer of Scotland’s Towns Partnership.
“At STP we aim to provide opportunities for our members through strategic partnerships which also help us to deliver on our key objectives. We are delighted to partner with Loqiva and look forward to collaborating on bringing the benefits of digital to more communities across Scotland.”
Loqiva launched its first Scottish Digital Town Hub in 2023 with Love Oban, in partnership with BID4Oban. The platform has since supported some of the town’s biggest events – including The Royal National Mòd, the Oban Highland Games and the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race – helping to drive footfall and local business revenue. Indeed, Love Oban played a role in the town being named Scotland’s Town of the Year in 2024.
Building on that momentum, Love Inverness has recently gone live and is already proving to be a valuable asset to the city and its BID. With more Scottish hubs in development, Loqiva is preparing to launch a series of new features including:
- An e-commerce marketplace to support local spending and Scotland Loves Local campaigns
- Digital screen integrations to create immersive in-destination guides, helping fill the gap left by the closure of iCentres
- Revenue-generating tools to support place managers and local businesses
Barry Conlon, Co-Founder of Loqiva, added:
It’s a hugely exciting time for digital placemaking in Scotland. We look forward to supporting as many Scottish towns and cities as possible to launch community-driven digital infrastructure in association with STP.”
