Royal Tunbridge Wells Together BID has announced the launch of the “RTW Love Local” digital town hub in the town.
The RTW Love Local digital town hub is powered by Loqiva and includes the ultimate local app for Royal Tunbridge Wells residents and visitors, combined with powerful e-commerce and marketing tools for the town’s businesses, as well as analytics and communication tools for the BID team.
Alex Green is the CEO at Royal Tunbridge Wells Together BID:
One of our longstanding goals is to place RTW back in the spotlight for residents and visitors. Over the last few years we have launched our Love Local, Rediscover TW and Joy to the Wells campaigns, each of which has showcased our amazing town in its own unique way. Our brand new RTW Love Local digital town hub will supercharge these efforts, creating a digital source of information for our residents and businesses that will add so much to our community for many years to come.
Royal Tunbridge Wells showcases Kentish town and country at its best. A thriving town, it also lies at the heart of the beautiful High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a region known for its world-famous gardens, fairy-tale moated castles and mellow country manors.
The town itself dates back at least 400 years, and was once a favourite spot amongst royalty who flocked there for its reputed healing waters. Visitors included Queen Anne and Queen Victoria, whose son King Edward VII granted the town its “Royal” prefix in 1909.
The history of the town is visible at every turn along its elegant Georgian walkways and many buildings of significant historic interest. However today’s Royal Tunbridge Wells town centre is also not short of modern attractions, with a welcoming shopping centre, two large department stores, big brands and chic independent shops, buzzy cafe bars and one-of-a -kind shops dotted along the colonnades of The Pantiles and in the High Street.
Visitors to the town are drawn to its year round programme of highly popular events, including the Real Ale and Cider Festival, Ice Skating, Local & Live, Jazz on the Pantiles and the Big Reveal alongside its two award-winning theatres and grassroots music venue.
Marcus Chidgey, co-founder of Loqiva said.
“Alex and the team at Royal Tunbridge Wells Together BID are clearly passionate about their town. It was obvious from the start of our conversations that they recognised the difference that technology could make in bringing a community together, harnessing civic pride and encouraging residents to shop with their local retailers.
We have no doubt that the RTW Love Local digital town hub will be a huge success.”
The RTW Love Local app is expected to be soft launched to businesses in October 2024 and will be available for public download by November 2024.
