How It Works

The News section aggregates feeds from Twitter, YouTube, RSS and Instagram. These are updated regularly to provide fresh content for App Users. The Hub handles a number of issues like emoticons, tweets without pictures, retweets etc to provide a consistent experience for users. Articles are organised in chronological order.

We advise using between 5 and 10 feeds to keep content up to date and interesting for users. The feeds might include:

  • Official town channels, e.g. BID/Council
  • Local news channels, e.g. local newspaper
  • Trusted community feeds, e.g. library, key retailers, sports centre, sports team
  • Trusted community commentators, e.g. resident reporters

Creating your News section

  • Click on the Add Feed button
  • Select the Feed Type from the drop-down menu
  • Add the information requested

Tips & Requirements

  • Keep the Twitter Name, YouTube Channel Name, RSS Feed or Instagram name as short as possible. The name appears in the app alongside the article title.
  • A YouTube Channel URL should look like: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbWy4UpIWLsQ1gLxgrFYnBw
