Digital Town Hub highlights of 2025

From elf trails to heartwarming videos, from business awards to screens on the side of vans, this has been the year when Loqiva’s partners have taken their technology innovation to new levels.

As we wrap up 2025, we wanted to celebrate some of the most creative, energetic and brilliant ways our clients have used their Digital Town Hubs this year. Across the UK, Ireland and America, place managers have been putting their hubs at the heart of local engagement, driving footfall, promoting businesses and giving people new reasons to explore their local areas.

Here are some of our favourite highlights:

Discover King’s Lynn brings the Hub to life on film

King’s Lynn BID created a fantastic video showing a local family using the app to explore their town, a warm and real world look at what a Digital Town Hub is all about.

Colchester turns Tours into a £100 Christmas Trail

IN Colchester have spent 2025 using the tour feature in new and interesting ways. Check out their current festive challenge, guiding users around the town for the chance to win £100 to spend locally.

Nottingham showcases the city’s best flavours

Another year, another restaurant week! Earlier in Spring, It’s in Nottingham hosted it’s biggest ever Restaurant Week through their hub, promoting dishes, offers and hidden gems from across the city.

ChooSE27 launches the In It To Win It campaign

Promote local and give back to residents! ChooSE27’s In It To Win It is a monthly spotlight competition giving local residents the chance to win curated prizes for local traders throughout the year.

Inverness runs their Business Awards through the app

Public voting for the 2025 Inverness City Centre Business Awards took place via the Love Inverness app for the very first time, making it easier than ever for residents to support their favourite businesses. A special congratulations to Good Craic Cafe for being voted the City Centre Team of the Year!

Barrow maps out the Soapbox Derby

Barrow BID hosts one of the craziest, wildest events in the UK.  The Soapbox Derby is by now a staple of their packed annual events calendar, and this year town residents could navigate the day, locations, businesses, and live events with an easy to use feature available straight from Barrow Buzz app!

Wandsworth supports local business owners with Wandsworth Connected

Wandsworth Connected is a fantastic new initiative hosted by Wandsworth Town BID. Their new series of free business events was promoted and showcased through the We Are Wandsworth Town app, helping local entrepreneurs upskill, connect and innovate.

Tunbridge Wells launches the Twelve Elves of Christmas trail

Looking for fun for the family this Christmas in Tunbridge Wells? The BID are running a festive, guided, interactive trail on the RTW #LoveLocal app, sending families around town to find mischievous elves, with a £200 Fenwick voucher up for grabs!

Huddersfield BID goes all in on festive promotion

Fresh off 4,000 downloads, Huddersfield BID have commissioned a full A4 page in the West Yorkshire Metro featured their festive mascot, aka BID manager Sam Sharp, promoting the Hello Huddersfield app. Serious commitment, serious cheer and a great way to cap off a successful year!.

Explore East Ren launches with a Digital Screened Van!

How to launch a brand new Digital Town Hub, that is the question… Explore East Ren certainly had some ideas! Barrhead, Clarkston and Giffnock saw a mobile digital screen hit the streets to promote the new Explore East Ren Digital Town Hub, a bold visual launch with real impact.

Love St Andrews introduces the Heart Selfie Bench

Time Out will no doubt be scrambling to add a new entry to the list of most romantic spots on earth. Earlier this Autumn, the newly launched Love St Andrews app was paired with a roaming ‘love’ selfie bench, encouraging residents and visitors to snap photos, explore offers and discover local events.

Harborne’s Bulls in the City trail goes audio guided

Harborne Village BID brought its colourful public art trail to life with an audio guided experience on Harborne Hub, helping visitors learn about each sculpture and the stories behind them. From Ozzy Osbourne tributes to floral folk art, the trail turned the high street into a digital discovery experience.

Blackpool celebrates its LGBTQ+ scene with a vibrant trail

And finally, amongst the many fantastic projects Blackpool BID have done this year, the team used their Go Blackpool Digital Town Hub to create an Out and About tour highlighting the town’s queer venues, nightlife and community spaces. From drag shows to late night dance floors, the trail showcased inclusive, welcoming places for visitors and locals to explore.
