Light Night Festival

It's in Nottingham used their Digital Town Hub to bring a major event to life — making it easier for residents and visitors to find out what’s on, navigate the experience, and share their feedback, all in one place

The Event

From 2–3 February 2024, Nottingham city centre came alive after dark with Light Night Festival — two free nights of immersive entertainment featuring more than 30 light-based installations, performances, and interactive experiences.

The event invites residents to see the city in a new light (literally), by opening up normally closed buildings, reimagining public spaces, and bringing some much-needed brightness to the winter months.

The Role of the Digital Town Hub

The It’s In Nottingham app acted as the central guide for the event. Visitors could explore everything from installation locations and walking tours to key information and real-time updates, all in one place.

Nottingham BID also used the platform’s footfall monitoring tools to track engagement throughout the weekend. And after the event, attendees were invited to share their feedback directly through the app’s survey feature, helping the BID gather valuable insight for future planning.
